The Power of Authenticity

June 22nd, 2008 by eamonameen

By Barbara Rose, Ph.D. How “powerful” are you? Do you ever cover up how you genuinely feel? Do you ever say what you think you “should,” say, based on how you want others to perceive you? Do you ever think you “should” be a certain way? Why? Ill share with you why I did in the past. I “thought” I “should” be a certain way, say certain things, act in the manner that I “thought” would bring me either the results I was attached to, or the acceptance of those I wanted. How powerful was I? About as powerful as a spineless wimp. When my behavior was incongruent with how I sincerely felt, all I did was give away my power. I then felt less powerful than before. If my energy went into trying to live up to a fictitious image I “thought” I “should” be, then what I was doing in actuality, was depleting myself of my genuine, authentic power. There is nothing more powerful than BEING who you really are. Being strong enough to say what you really think, show how you really feel, and act the way you really feel like behaving is called congruency. This takes guts. It requires self-respect. When you are aligned with yourself, THEN you are authentically powerful. Whose acceptance are you trying to get? Stop. Get your own. Whose approval are you trying to win? You only need self-approval. Who implanted the false image in your head you think you are supposed to live up to in order to be enough? Look at the image in the mirror. You ARE enough, NOW. If you feel something, say it. You may say something as gently or as graciously as you would like, but make sure that it is said. If you sincerely want to do something, turn off your head, and DO what YOU WANT to do, without worrying about imagined future results. If you keep whatever bothers you all bottled up, you will wind up unnecessarily exploding on others. Share your feelings honestly. You see, once you begin to be authentic, you begin to feel the REAL you. Once you begin to feel the real you, you will never go back to feeling powerless. The only way to feel true authentic power is to be true, authentic and congruent. Simply be the real you. Then all feelings of powerlessness diminish. You will worry far less. You will be more centered. You will feel more in control, because you will not be divided between who you think you should be, and who you really are. Be who you really are. Then, and only then, will you realize how dynamic your life will become. Copyright by Barbara Rose. Bad Credit? Easier Ways To Get A Personal Loan Today

June 19th, 2008 by eamonameen

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=David_Jacobsen]David Jacobsen Once you have bad credit, obtaining a loan becomes a heck of a lot harder. This is definitely true for personal loans, where the lender may have little or not security to protect their loan. But the good news is that if you approach the right company for a loan, and understand the correct procedure for applying, you have a chance of being successful. It still won’t be easy, but at least it will be easier than constantly being turned down without even being able to explain your situation. You just need to give the lender a good reason to believe you’re a safe risk. The reality is, you only have bad credit if you’ve stuffed up. Maybe you missed payments on a loan, or paid your bills late if you paid them at all. It’s always important to pay attention to your finances and do your best to pay everything on time, because once something’s on your credit history, it stays there. When a lender is assessing you for a loan, all these black marks add up against you, reducing your credit score. Once it gets below a certain level, it’s an automatic “no” from the lender. It can take years to restore your credit once it’s damaged, so do everything you can to avoid messing up in the first place, and even if your credit is poor, get into the habit of paying everything on time so that eventually your credit will be repaired. The first step is to start looking around for lenders that cater for people with bad credit. The Internet is a great place to shop around, and there are some sites that specialize in comparing the loans offered by various lenders for bad credit risks. Be aware that you’re unlikely to get the cheapest rates or best deal on the market - those are reserved for people with a perfect credit history. Resign yourself to higher interest rates or needing to offer some form of asset as collateral, such as a car or your home. Many bad credit loans also have much higher penalty fees and rates if you are late with your payments. Be aware, too, that if you fail to make your payments the lender could repossess your asset - so be very sure you can pay before making that sort of commitment. Once you’ve found a lender who’s willing to consider you for a loan, then think very carefully about how much you need to borrow. Don’t make the mistake of borrowing as much as the lender will give you - all that will happen is you’ll end up with bigger repayments that are harder to meet. Borrow the minimum. One of the good things about a bad credit personal loan is that if you make all your payments on time and have a good record, it will help your credit history when you want to borrow money in the future. So make it as easy as possible for yourself to succeed - borrow the minimum. It’s also good to pay more than the minimum payment each month if you possibly can. This shortens the term of the loan, reduces the interest you have to pay, and again, is a big tick on your credit history. Finding a bad credit personal loan can take some time, but if you’re patient and do you homework, you will be able to find the right loan for your situation. Just make sure you really need it and can afford the repayments, because if you default on a bad credit loan, it will be a long time before any other lender will consider lending you money. How to Buy a Lovely Wedding Gown Without Breaking Your Budget

June 15th, 2008 by eamonameen

By Marie Correces Every bride wants to look lovely on her wedding day, and wedding gowns play an important part on how she will trun out to be. But wedding gowns are costly. And if you are like most of us who are trying to fit everything in a budget for that special day, you don’t have to spend so much on that single attire you’ll probably be wearing once. Having a wedding theme allows you to wear an attire according to that theme. For example, if your theme is the 50’s era, there’s no need to look hard for an attire suited for that theme. Maybe your mother still has her gown and you can wear that instead of buying one. But if you’re looking for a traditional bridal gown, you don’t have to buy a brand new one. Many brides wear used bridal gowns for their special day. As I mentioned earlier, you shouldn’t be spending too much on an attire that might be in your closet forever. Look at second hand stores or thrift stores. They are dry cleaned, and some were not even worn at all. Shop at bridal stores during an off season and look for one that fits you. Another place worth considering is Ebay. It is a marketplace to visit when you want things at a fraction of the retail cost, and many sellers sell even new gowns at incredibly low prices. You can also buy other things you need for your wedding from them. Other places you should look into are garage sales in your area and classified ads of your newspapers. They might need repair, though. But if you have ample time, you can buy your own fabric and have a gown made for you. This way your gown will be made according to your own style, and you will not worry whether it will fit you or not. Beauty, Style, And Magnetism Start With Self-Esteem

June 7th, 2008 by eamonameen

By Aislinn O’Connor Beauty, style, fashion, attractiveness, magnetism and sex appeal aren’t just skin-deep. They start with your self-image the way you see yourself. Do an Internet search, and you’ll find advice on clothes, style, skin-care, hair and lots of other ideas designed to help to make you irresistible. Many of them are excellent, and well worth using. That makes it easy to believe that’s all there is to being beautiful, but the truth is that whatever you put on the outside is just the icing on the cake. What really makes the difference, and puts the kind of spring in your step and sparkle in your eyes that gets you noticed, is what’s inside… that means, the way you feel about yourself. Even for a supermodel or a movie star, without the ability to project superb self-confidence, all the designer clothes and make-up in the world would be a total waste of time. Well, the great news is that all that poise and confidence, that radiance and inner sparkle, all the qualities that draw attention and admiration like a magnet, are available to everyone - including you. More than that, they’re actually your birthright, simply as a part of being human! The keys to expressing the radiant beauty you were born to show are very simple ones:- 1. Get rid, right here and now, of any idea you might have that you’re less attractive than other people. You can be as radiantly beautiful as anyone alive - and it all starts with believing that you can; 2. Practice deep relaxation for at least half an hour, once or twice a day. This gets rid of stress and boosts your energy and sparkle; 3. Get plenty of sleep. Partying’s great fun, but if you don’t recharge your batteries sufficiently it can take a powerful toll on how you look (and feel about yourself); 4. Have a healthy lifestyle. Cigarettes, or too much alcohol, junk food and illegal substances will ruin your looks as surely as they’ll wreck your health; 5. Take some exercise. Yoga or t’ai chi will tone your muscles, change your shape (you get to choose the changes that you want to make), and give you much more poise and gracefulness; 6. One thing the most attractive people have in common is the ability to make the person that they’re talking to feel like the most important person in the room. The way to do that is to focus on that person, not yourself. Make eye contact, and really listen to what they have to say. Their reaction will make you feel so good you’ll really sparkle; 7. Choose a style that works for you. You will always look and feel much better in a style that suits your personality than one that doesn’t, no matter which designer’s name is on the label; 8. Make good use of color. Again, what matters is what suits you, not what the High Street shops are trying to sell you; 9. Hold your head up high, and walk tall. It makes you feel a lot more poised and confident, and that will show. People who feel good about themselves and how they look don’t need to blend into the crowd and hide themselves away; and 10. Keep a definite picture in your mind of exactly what you want to look like, and the graceful poise and radiant, magnetic beauty that you want to show the world. If you hold that picture strongly enough, your inner mind will help you to achieve it, and hold on to it, as quickly and effortlessly as possible. The Art of Juggling Career, Family and Education

June 1st, 2008 by eamonameen

By Travis Waack Can you find the time to do it all - career, family, continue education? Having trouble jugging? Some problems in this area that people face are very similar to those of the beginning juggler. According to The Instant Jugglers’ Manual, (c)1993 Infinite Illusions/Lofty Pursuits, four common problems are handling two areas of focus at the same time, moving forward while you try to juggle instead of standing still, not being able to juggle in a third area of focus, and keeping all three areas from bumping into each other or overlapping. So lets take a look at some solutions to these problems. Two at Once To juggle two objects, you first toss one into the air to about eye level, then toss number two. The same with life. Pick any two areas of focus, and only try to tackle one at a time to establish goals and a system for it in your life. Then work in the second area. And just as juggling wouldnt work if the wrist puts too much or too little force into the toss, causing one or both objects to go too high or too low, the same can happen in life. If established goals are too high or low, not compatible with one another and your lifestyle, that juggling act doesnt stand much chance. For instance, if fictitious person, John Doe, wants to complete a doctoral program, yet only earns minimum wage, he may need financial assistance with his continued education to balance the act. Otherwise, John could have to work over time and take on a second job to fill gaps and pay bills. He may miss out on valuable family time with his wife and young son and become stressed out and exhausted. Not to mention his grades could take a dive! Student loans, grants and work-study could be some possible solutions in this case. Where is juggling help? Instead of The Instant Jugglers’ Manual, there are many resources available to help with juggling career, family and education. Local colleges are a good place to start. Not Being Able To Juggle In A Third Ready to add a third factor into the equation? Concentrate on throwing ball number 3 and do not even try to catch ball 2, advises The Instant Jugglers’ Manual. Or once you have two areas of focus pretty much underway, say your career and family, add the third education. Get help planning your education into the mix with resources. Head to your local educational center or public libraries for help. Dont get left dropping or not juggling the ball. Travis Waack has authored numerous articles on various topics of interest. You may find the education resources at http://education.online-002.com/education.html to be very helpful in your search for all things related to school, online degrees, education and more. Low Carb Diet - The Way To Weight Loss?

May 29th, 2008 by eamonameen

By Josie Anderson Everybody you know is on the latest weight loss bandwagon: The Low Carb Diet. Theyve seen the astounding results on the scale and have lost 10+ pounds in a short period of time. So you want to join in on this also? Before You Start Take Time to Look at How the Body Works with Carbs: It is true that the weight that is lost starting out on the low carb diet is a lot in a short period of time, but most of the weight that is lost is water and carbs that are stored in your body. Carbohydrates are stored in the muscles. Each gram of a carbohydrate that is stored in the muscle is also stored with 3 grams of water. When you cut out carbohydrates your body uses the stored carbohydrates in your muscles for fuel. As these carbs are used up the water that is stored with them is taken out also, so the result is weight loss at the beginning of a low carb diet and some inches lost due to the depletion of carbohydrate stores in your body. As the carbs and water leave the muscles the muscles become depleted and loses volume. Once carbs are added back into the diet the muscle take up these carbs along with water, so if the carbs are reintroduced into the diet in a couple days time the initial weight that was lost will be regained. Your brain requires carbs for energy also. The brain uses 400 calories a day just for the standard thought process of staying alive. So this is 100 grams of carbs a day that is required for one body function. Any movement that you do for longer than 3 minutes requires carbs to be used for energy. When carbs become scarce your body goes into a state of ketosis, that is the process of the body breaking down fat into ketones for the brain to use as energy because not enough glucose is available for the brain. The results of this can be loss in energy, fatigue, irritability and a slower thought process. Thus affecting your ability at work or school. Eating Carbs But Not Gaining Weight: You can eat carbs and not gain weight. It is in the choice of carbohydrates that you consume that will make the difference. Including more vegetables and whole grains in your diet and eating less simple carbohydrates like sugars that are in soda, candy, processed and refined foods will help you in losing weight. Paying attention to portion sizes will also help. Pasta is an easy trap for eating to much carbohydrates. If you like pasta add vegetable to you dishes, since vegetables are good carbs and have fiber in them they will help fill you up faster. Eat a salad with every meal, but pay attention to what you put on your salad, stick to low fat versions of dressings, like Italian and Vinaigrettes. Creamy dressing when they are low fat can be loaded with sugars to take place of the fat, so it is important to pay attention to the nutritional values of dressings. Another way of using carbs in your body is weight training. Weight Training requires your body to use carbs for the exercise and to repair muscles after your workout. Finding a requirement in the body for the carbs that you eat is a great way to use the carbs that are consumed. By finding the requirement for use of carbs you do not need to worry so much on how many carbs that you consume but just the types of carbs. Always remember that no matter what sugars in abundance are not good for your body or your weight loss goals. Re-Discovering Your Career Passion

May 26th, 2008 by eamonameen

By Ford Myers Do you ever feel like youve lost touch with the enthusiasm and passion you once felt about your career? Remember when you were just starting-out at your first job, or you were a recent graduate? You probably thought that any job would be available to you; that every employer would want to hire you. You were excited about your prospects and believed that you had something wonderful to share. But now that youve been in the work-world for quite a while, and have had a series of jobs with several different companies, have you become cynical or resigned in your work-attitude? Are you unsure as to which direction to turn next? As a professional Career Consultant, I have found that this loss of career passion and enthusiasm is very common and its one of my most troubling observations. To address this problem, I came up with an amazingly simple three-part exercise, which I use with my clients. It helps them understand why this has happened to them, and what steps they need to take to re-discover their career passion. If youre thinking, Its too late for me, Id like to challenge you on that assumption. Allow me to show you how, by performing an internal evaluation and re-visiting your true priorities, you really can re-discover the career of your dreams! Ready to get started? Complete the following sentences without over thinking your answers. You may list multiple answers for each of the items below. Be sure to keep your responses focused only on the career/work aspects of your life: 1. In my free time, the activities or hobbies I like to do best are … 2. Whenever I go to a bookstore, the section(s) I always seem to be drawn to are … 3. My closest friends work in the following fields/businesses or professions … 4. Colleagues often ask for my help with … 18. I would feel disappointed, frustrated or sad if I couldnt do … At this point, I suggest you go back and carefully review your answers to the questions above. Refer to those answers as you respond to the four final questions below. Be as thorough and detailed as possible with your responses: 19. What do my answers above tell me about my core values, interests, and motivational patterns? 20. Where in my work do I still find real energy and enthusiasm? 21. What implications do these answers have on my current and future career choices? 22. What is one thing I can do right now to enhance or change my current career situation? Your answers to all these questions are important for several reasons. First, they point to your natural talents, gifts and skills. Secondly, they point to areas where your own internal satisfaction will most likely match your external success professionally, financially, and as a whole human being who is able to bring your complete self to the work. And, finally, your answers will highlight the critical areas on which to focus your next career move those areas where your talents and passions intersect with market demand! Now that youve performed this brief internal evaluation, ask yourself this final question: Is your current career direction aligned with your true gifts, goals and passions? If not, remember: its never too late to correct the problem as long as you have the right resources and support! So, if youve been feeling resigned or cynical in your work-attitude, I urge you to take responsibility and take action NOW. Why Does The Sky Glow At Night?

May 17th, 2008 by eamonameen

By Anthony Arrigo Have you ever noticed that the night sky is no longer inky black and full of stars like it used to be? Have you noticed the strange orangish glow thats replaced it? The strange orangiy glow is a form of light pollution referred to as sky glow. Sky glow is probably the most recognizable aspect of light pollution. By far the largest segment of the population equates sky glow with light pollution. This is wonderful, as it shows a growing awareness of the problem. As a quick refresher, sky glow is the glow we see above cities and towns when viewed from a distance. The intensity of the sky glow is an indication of the quantity of exterior lighting which is wastefully shining up into the night sky. To put the problem in perspective, estimates place the cost for the US alone in the neighborhood of$5-10 billion dollars annually. This is not the sum total of all outdoor lighting, this is just that portion of outdoor lighting that is so misdirected as to light up the night sky. This is an incredible sum of money to simply waste, and yet that’s exactly what we do year after year. In fact, the problem is actually increasing in magnitude and cost. A consequence of sky glow is the dramatic reduction in the number of stars visible in the night sky. Under pristine conditions, some 4000-5000 stars may be seen. In the most light polluted cities, perhaps a dozen or two are visible. You may think that this only impacts astronomers, but you’d be wrong. We are all affected in a profound way. The human race has looked to the stars through out history in an attempt to understand our place in the universe. It is highly unfortunate that the most technologically advanced civilization to inhabit this planet should also be the most detached from the cosmos. It is no wonder that more and more people feel detached, alone and overwhelmed in our continuous motion society. They simply have lost their reference points and are unable to find their way. Sky glow also changes the surrounding environment. In many areas, it never really gets dark at night. This seriously impacts local wildlife. Many species are simply unable to adapt. Sea turtles are a prime example. All sea turtles that inhabit Florida waters are either threatened or endangered, and according to the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, light pollution is a major contributing factor. If you’d like to change this situation, its easy to do your part. Simply choose a night sky friendly light fixture. Night sky friendly lights put all the light they emit onto the ground beneath them and do not shine any wastefully up into the night sky. By choosing a night sky friendly outdoor light fixture for your home or business, you can feel better knowing that you are doing your part to reduce sky glow in your area and help to reclaim the majesty of the night sky. Anthony Arrigo is an avid astronomer and night sky activist. His company, Starry Night Lights (http://www.StarryNightLights.com) specializes in night sky friendly outdoor lighting products. I Am Not Going To Panic But Rather Enjoy HIS Peace: Apostle’s Series Article - Letter to Missionary

May 14th, 2008 by eamonameen

By Rascal Miles A misionary brother in Africa wrote me a moving “Fear” letter : “What can i do my brother with all the pressure pilling on me, these are all genuine ministry needs, it takes faith to comprehend the way forward, really need a financial breakthrough, there is an absolute need for finances that i seem not to locate, the list for needs are greater than what i can accomplish. What can i do brother Russ? Peter” What a wonderful opportunity I had to encourage my ministry friend ~ that Our Lord had dispatched to a foreign mission field ~ in Africa :) Other of my Christian Brothers and Sisters ~ in The Lord ~ may enjoy my entirely honest letter to my friend, Peter, and perhaps use it as a ministry tool to assist those whom are challanged in these rough end times? LOL My Precious Brother Peter, I can relate to what you are saying. But Our job is to not panic! LOL When I say Our job, perhaps I should explain why? As I write this back to you, Peter, I’ve received my electricity shut off notice. I’ve promised to pay the power company by the 3rd. No, I don’t have the money yet. LOL My garbage service has already been shut off, two weeks of a garbage container placed by the neighbors on the curb ~ only mine is not emptied. LOL My Apartment rent is due on the 1st of the month. The money to pay it has yet to arrive. My car was down to 2 gallons of gas in its Cadillac gas tank yesterday. Normally, an old caddie won’t even start without more petrol in the tank than that. Peter, I Am at peace :) It is not my job to worry and to fret is to fear. As the scripture says, (CEV) Matthew 6:33 But more than anything else, put God’s work first and do what he wants. Then the other things will be yours as well. I Am putting God’s work first :) Why should I fear? It’s God’s work that I am doing. Surly He IS a Good Employer and surly ~ As My Master ~ He will pay me on time. LOL Did Moses need the Red Sea to part while his people were still in their homes ? Or even while they were gathering their possessions to flea Egypt? No! Moses pointed his staff at the water when he arrived at the Red Sea. Then, God parted the water. LOL Did Jesus need to be raised from the dead before He had died? No, not much. LOL Now, after He was crucified, Jesus did need to be raised to life by God who had promised His Son that He would do that. Well, as we know, Peter, God did raise Jesus back to life! But only after He ~ Jesus ~ was in the grave for three days ~ as according to God’s promise that He would. Does it look like maybe a pattern is emerging here? Yes, I believe so, my fearful friend. LOL (KJV) Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. I like the clear way that the Contemporary English Version say this, ( CEV) Hebrews 11:1 Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we cannot see. The Apostle, Paul, who saw his share of trials said, (NKJV) 2 Corinthians 4:8 [We are] hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; [we are] perplexed, but not in despair; Again, (CEV) 2 Corinthians 4:8 We often suffer, but we are never crushed. Even when we don’t know what to do, we never give up. So, you see, my missionary friend, that ours are testimony’s in the making, if only we don’t give up! And, My Precious Peter, we won’t give up, (NASB) Romans 14:4 Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. I feel that the proper way to end this communication is with an appropriate scripture: (CEV) Jude 1:24 25 Offer praise to God our Savior because of our Lord Jesus Christ! Only God can keep you from falling and make you pure and joyful in his glorious presence. Before time began and now and forevermore, God is worthy of glory, honor, power, and authority. Be a St. Patrick’s Day Lover!

May 9th, 2008 by eamonameen

By Romeo Gardner The time has come to celebrate our Irish roots once again! Dont have Irish roots? Celebrate them anyway! Come drink a pint of beer or two and enjoy some corned beef (well call the cabbage optional). Whether you are a man or woman, there are lots of ways to put on your Irish game face and have some sexy fun on Saint Pattys Day. For Men If you want your lady to dress up, maybe you should start it. Buy her the sexy green negligee you want her to wear, and pick up a pair of sexy green undies for yourself as well. If you can cook at all, learn how to prepare an Irish feast. Bonus points if you cook naked, or wearing only an apron. For Women Buy a sexy green dress and flaunt it for him. You know he wants you! Color your down-there hair green for a sexy surprise that will have him laughing, or paint a shamrock somewhere naughty for him to find. Actually wear the green negligee he bought you. He did go to all that effort! For Couples Some whipped cream in a bowl and some green food dye makes body paint. Write sexy messages on each others bodies, or just take turns drawing shamrocks and licking them off. Be careful around the face, though, as the dye might sometimes stick around for a few days. Put on some Irish music and listen to it together. If you like it, enjoy it, and if not, well, enjoy making fun of it as a couple. Four words: Kiss me, Im Irish! Some Irish whiskey or some delicious gourmet chocolates might be just the thing to loosen you up for the evening. Kiss every time you see a shamrock! With these tips and tricks and a little effort and creativity on your part, you can make this Saint Patricks Day one that is full of sex and romance for the both of you. Get back to your roots and have a little fun as well, and you will have a great day for the both of you to remember. If you really love the way that this year turns out, you can even turn Saint Patricks Day into a romantic tradition for the both of you!
